Rapidly rising house prices have continued into May with the average house price increasing by 1.9% to £149 020 according to the latest "Nationwide monthly review". Prices are 19.5% or £24 000 higher than in May 2003 with prices rising by more than 9% in the first five months of 2004 compared to 5.8% over the same period in 2003.
