Strutt and Parker and FPD Savills predict that land values will continue to rise in the short term, but Savills also forecast a sharp decline in values later. Strutt and Parker's latest "Farmland update" shows the average price for the first quarter of 2004 added another 6% to reach £2 564/acre, the highest level since December 2002. While Savills believe that the price of land could increase by up to 50% in parts of the country over the next couple of years.
