The French company GeoSys has been piloting a scheme using satellite remote sensing equipment to assist in agronomic and strategic farming decisions. The satellite images provide an overview of the farm to help decide programmes and methods, field and crop selection. It can also help direct field walking to potential problem areas and increase efficiency and variable rate applications of inputs such as nitrogen.
