New RICS president orders selection process review

Incoming RICS President Barry Gilbertson is reported as ordering a review of the presidential selection process to put a stop to contested elections for the position of president. This would prevent a repeat of the three-way election held by RICS governing council in March 2004. Gilbertson would prefer to see the contesting go on a vice-president level, with any RICS member being able to stand for this position.
