Industry bodies make case for flexible UK REIT

RICS, British Property Federation and the Investment Property Forum have issued their vision for the structure of a UK real estate investment trust (REIT). The structure should be simple to help promote the development of healthy, viable commercial and residential real estate business. It is suggested that REITs could be listed on the stock market although this should not be obligatory. REITs are likely to be introduced by April 2005.
