Discusses CABE's review of urban housing. This concentrates on 20 large high-density urban housing projects. "Design reviewed urban housing : lessons learned from projects reviewed by CABE's expert design panel" (J126679) argues that high density housing is difficult to get exactly right as it requires very careful site specific design where standardised solutions are often not appropriate. The CABE report is not intended as a design guide but as a discussion of the ingredients involved in good design. This includes the use of courtyard or part courtyard forms which are becoming commonplace in residential projects. With a list of good and bad practice in design.
