Future of heritage protection unveiled - 2004 - DCMS News Release (081/04) 28 June 2004 (5) .

A package of new rights for owners of period property, including statutory consultation and a new right of appeal has been announced by the heritage minister. A "Register of historic sites and buildings of England" will also be created. This will include all protected buildings, monuments, parks, gardens and battlefields. Over 500 people and organisations were involved in the public consultation.
