Institutions say they are on target for a strong year of property investment, despite figures that showed them selling out of the sector in the first quarter of 2004. Latest National Statistics figures on institutional investment showed pension funds and insurance companies sold £396m more of direct property than they bought in the first three months of this year. Although fund managers believe the statistics hide major investment in indirect vehicles.
