The latest figures in the "ODPM house price index" for May 2004 show a small increase in the average house price in the UK. It stood at £170 719, up from £168 000 the previous month. House price inflation was up from 10% in April 2004 to 12.2% in May. The index also provides further information on house prices throughout the regions and the average house price for first-time buyers.
