The Accounts Commission and Communities Scotland have published "Managing housing voids: the impact of low demand properties". This report looks at how councils and Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) manage empty and low demand houses. In 2003 the spending watchdog, Audit Scotland, found that £33.7m in rental income was lost because properties were lying empty.
