Beetham Tower is located at the edge of Liverpool's central commercial area within a mixed-use development including a hotel, health club and offices. Describes some of the problems overcome and variations made by the main contractor Carillion plc such as the need to incorporate the facades of some listed cottages into the design of the new hotel and the addition of an extra floor to the residential tower to house more penthouses.
