New house price inflation index

New house price inflation index - 2004 - Construction News 15 July 2004, 6 (1) .

The House Builders Federation (HBF) intends to produce its own house price inflation index. Its members believe that other indexes produced by mortgage lenders are inaccurate and that the percentage rises on house prices on the majority of indexes are inflated. The HBF is also concerned about the Bank of England raising interest rates on the basis of those indexes.
