Spanish economy

Spanish economy - 2004 - RICS European Alert July 2004, 6 (1) .

In the first quarter of 2004, Spain experienced a 2.8% growth in annual GDP - the highest in two years. Growth in 2004 has been driven by higher domestic demand and rising exports. However, imports also increased by 6.7%, compared to a European wide average of 2.7%. Employment increases have been led by the construction and service industries, which make up 76% of all jobs. Office rents were also down 12% in the first quarter of 2004 from the same time last year, this was due to a slowdown in growth of both overall employment and service sector employment. http://www.rics.org/europe/index.html
