The latest statistical release presenting figures on new house building starts and completions in England and its regions has been released from the ODPM. The figures reveal that in the quarter ending June 2004 there were 46.9 thousand housing starts and 38.7 thousand completions - both up 10% on the same period in 2003. In the 12 months to the end of June 2004, starts were up in all regions - the north east increased by 2%, Yorkshire and the Humber 10%, East Midlands 6%, London 6%, South East 11% and the East only 2%.
