According to initial details, released in advance of full publication of a survey by the Civil Engineering Contractors' Association, construction clients appear to be cooling in their attitudes towards frameworks. They are looking for shorter agreements and letting additional work out separately as they realise that long-term frameworks may cause many local contractors to fold as they are effectively frozen out of work. Many small and medium-sized contractors have been concerned over losses in work due to lengthy frameworks.
