The feudal system in Scotland will be abolished on 28 November 2004 when the Abolition of Feudal Tenure Etc (Scotland) Act 2000 and the Title Conditions (Scotland) Act 2003 come into force. Explains the background to the changes and outlines the key provisions of the two Acts. Raises the questions of the preservation of feudal burdens and compensation under the 2000 Act.
