The Financial Services Authority (FSA) will take responsibility for regulating arrears and repossessions, including mortgage shortfalls from 31 October 2004. Rules governing arrears and repossessions are laid down in the FSA's "Mortgage: conduct of business part 13" which may be viewed online at www.fsa.gov.uk. Discusses the responsibilities of mortgagees in marketing and disposing of a repossessed property including obtaining the best price.
