The latest statistical report from the ODPM, "House price index July 2004", shows that the mix-adjusted average house price in the UK in July 2004 stood at £177 474. Annual house price inflation was 14.3% up from 13.9% in June 2004, in London inflation was 8.4%. For first-time buyers this rate fell to 17.6% in July, due to an increase of 2.6% in prices between June and July.
