New funding for solar energy

Funding of £8.5m has been announced for schools, houses and commercial buildings to encourage more energy production from solar panels and small-scale renewables. The funding is part of the Major Photovoltaics Programme and brings the total invested under this banner to £31m. Communitites, not-for-profit organisations and households will also benefit from new funding to extend the Clear Skies initiative for a further year, bringing the total funding up to £12.5m. These grants are available for a variety of renewable technologies.
