Each year Land Registry receives over 200 000 applications to register new leases and with the implementation of registration of leases of more than seven years, the number of compulsory registrations of leases looks set to rise. The Registry is now looking to standardise lease information, in order to streamline the registration process and is conducting a consultation on two alternative methods of presenting the prescribed information at the front of registrable leases.
