According to the latest "CBRE monthly index" property was the best performing asset class on an annual basis for a second consecutive month in August 2004, with a total return of 17.9%. The total return for the month period of August was 1.3%, with rental growth at 0.1%. With central London offices rental growth marginally negative in August, contributing to flat all-office rental growth over the month, the office market continues to be driven by capital growth.
