Association calls for reform of finance

Association calls for reform of finance - 2004 - Planning (for the Natural and Built Environment) 24 September 2004, 1(1) .

A report by the Town and Country Planning Association, 'Towards land value taxation for local government' argues that splitting the business rate would allow an element to be retained to boost development in regeneration areas. A system of local finance could be developed to reinforce private investment as the local taxation system is too centralised at present.
