This release is compiled on the basis of new methodology announced on 29 July 2004. Output per worker increased by 2.9% in the second quarter of 2004 compared with a year ago; this is up from 2% for the previous quarter. Unit wage costs for the economy in the second quarter of 2004 increased by 2.1% compared with the same period a year ago.
