Public procurement law was first regulated in the Czech Republic in 1994 and was further revised December 2003, the changes taking effect when the Czech Republic joined the EU in May 2004. Despite this there are many important issues that still need to be addressed. For example, the legislation failed to deal with public-private partnerships whilst competitive dialogue must be introduced to give more flexibility to contracting authorities.
