The DTI has just published "New construction orders: August 2004". The figures show that orders in the year to August 2004 rose by 2% compared to orders in the previous 12 month period. Private housing orders in the year to August rose by 9%; public housing and housing association orders by 18%; infrastructure orders decreased by 25%; public non-housing orders fell by 3%; private commercial orders rose by 12% and finally private industrial orders fell by 1% in the year to August when compared to the previous year.
