"Valuing the small: counting the benefits" has been published by an alliance of environmental groups. It highlights the issues that are in the way of delivering better transport at the local level. It claims that measures like safe routes to school, 20mph zones and traffic calming are all hampered and sidelined by investment in big infrastructure schemes.
