Amendments to regulations under the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 will clarify circumstances under which landlords, wishing to enter into long-term agreements of more than 12 months, will be required to carry out formal service charge consultation procedures with tenants. The amendments are designed to minimise disruption for landlords as they prepare for the commencement of new accounting requirements for service charges.
