The Institute for Public Policy Research has published a working paper for the Commission on Sustainable Development in the south east. "Going for growth" compares the southeast of England's economic performance with other regions and economies within the UK and Europe. It warns that the southeast may not be able to cope with any further housebuilding and should instead focus on coping with pressures such as congestion, pollution, disparities in the region and the lack of affordable housing.
