Sharp increase in tender prices

Sharp increase in tender prices - 2004 - RICS News Service 29 October 2004 (2) .

The price of construction work rose sharply in the 2nd quarter of 2004, according to the latest "BCIS tender price index". Tender prices jumped by 7.0% compared to the previous quarter. New work output is expected to rise well ahead of trend in 2004 and 2005. This could be a reflection of anticipated strong upward pressure from input costs during firm price contract periods, particularly as a result of potential steel and oil price increases.
