Rights of way proposals

Rights of way proposals - 2004 - DEFRA News Release (437/04) 2 November 2004 (2) .

Two DEFRA consultation papers are seeking views on proposals to improve the information available about rights of way, and to simplify the way in which changes to rights of way are made, under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The proposals include: reducing to one single-step the current two-part process local authorities have to follow for recording changes; and regulations for three formal rights of way registers. Both consultations will run until 31 January 2005 and are available at: http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/consult/rightsof way-registers/index.htm. http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2004/041102a.htm
