According to the latest "Residential property price report: July-September 2004" from the Land Registry, the average price of a detached house during that period was £284 145 - an increase of 13.3% from the same period in 2003. Semi-detached houses were £170 816, terraced £143 771 and flats/maisonettes were £172 196. Overall for all types of house the average price was £187 971.
