"New construction orders: October 2004" has been released. It shows that orders in the year to October 2004 rose by 4% compared to orders in the previous 12 month period. Private housing and housing association orders in the year to October 2004 rose by 12% when compared to the previous year. Infrastructure orders in the year to October 2004 decreased by 23% compared to the previous 12 months. Public non-housing orders (excluding infrastructure) in the year to October 2004 fell by 9% when compared with the previous 12 months.
