- 2004
- OFT Press Release (201/04) 8 December 2004 (2) .
The OFT is to study the property search sector. They have received complaints from property search companies about difficulties in accessing property information from information holders - each of which has a statutory monopoly over the information that they hold - and about competition in the market as a whole. The OFT's study will focus on how consumers' needs are met in terms of how much information is collected, access to information, charges for this information, the structure of the market and regulation of the electronic gateway. The OFT aims to complete the study in summer 2005. For further details see the website. http://www.oft.gov.uk
