A rise in interest rates and generally downbeat economic conditions led to a decline in the Global Commercial Property Sentiment Index (CPSI) towards the end of 2022 (-11 in Q3 to -15 during Q4). However, sentiment is still less negative than during the recent pandemic and in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis, when the Global CPSI reached a low of almost -40 in the first case, and close to -50 in the second.
