This consumer guide aims to ensure consistency in the measurement of residential property for sales and letting purposes to avoid new buyers and renters paying more than they should for a property based on inaccurate floorplans. Supersedes the by 2018 edition Withdrawn on issuance of the new Home Survey Standard, no new edition planned. Note there is no longer a test or certificate for surveyors for measuring.
