The project’s main goal was to support vulnerable sections of Kenyan society; concentrating on the relationship between traditional customary rights, gender and asset values. Unregistered land (whether rural customary land or urban land squatted upon) is difficult to value because of the uncertainty of title. Using Keny as a case study it was intended that the methods developed would be applicable to other countries.
