The awareness and use of AI across the land and property life cycle has steadily grown in recent years, bringing both advantages and risks to professionals and their clients. This draft professional conduct standard seeks to assist RICS members and regulated firms in adapting to the use of this new technology while maintaining professional judgment, engendering confidence in the management of data and ensuring good communication with clients. It is therefore hoped that the standard will help in building trust among stakeholders, ensuring that AI improves safety, resilience and innovation within the natural and built environment. Consultation opened 5 March 2025 and closes 25 April 2025 1st edition based on the consultation feedback published in September 2025, effective 9 March 2026
