CA 15 May 1996. L and C sold various residential properties to T without serving notice under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 s5on the tenants (K). A purchase notice under s12 was served on behalf of the tenants requiring T to dispose of a number of units in two of the properties to the nominated purchaser. T failed to comply with the purchase noticeand contended that it was invalid as the premises included all three properties and a notice had not been served by a majority of the tenants. K appealed. "Held" a landlord served with a s12 notice is required to comply with it. Appeal allowed.
