Draws attention to the underestimation of housing unfitness by the Welsh Office who carried out a survey in West Glamorgan and Mid Glamorgan in 1981, by comparing this survey to two local surveys undertaken by the City of Swansea and the Borough of Cynon Valley . The Cynon Valley survey showed that three quarters of the private stock, both rented and owner-occupied is either unfit for human habitation or otherwise in disrepair.Tables.
