The Inland Revenue Valuation Office faces a backlog of rating appeals following an internal reorganization with the merger of the separate offices in England and Wales and relaunch as an executive agency in September 1991. The Valuation Office will also take over the Treasury`s role for rating government property from 1 April 1991.
