Serving notices during a postal dispute

Malone, M.

Serving notices during a postal dispute - 1988 - Law Society`s Gazette 85(43) 23 November 1988, 19-23(3) .

Discusses the legal issues raised in relation to the service of notices by or on behalf of landlords and tenants of business premises during a postal dispute . Examines the implications if there is a total stoppage, delays in delivery and establishing the date of service of a notice. Concludes that although legislation relating to the service of notices is often confusing, most practitioners agree that correctly addressed notices sent by registered/recorded post are deemed to be served on the day following the date of posting.
