Discusses the implications of "Banque Bruxelles Lambert SA v Eagle Star Insurance Co Ltd" (1995) EGCS 31, where any negligence in the course of a mortgage valuation will henceforth operate to transfer the risk of a market collapse from the lender to the valuer, at least where, if the true value had been known, there would have been no mortgage loan at all.
