Reports on the progress of the air rights scheme at Charing Cross station in London . Embankment Place is being developed jointly by the Greycoat Group and British Rail Property Board. When complete the office building will be suspended from nine steel arches mounted on heavy columns passing straight through the station platforms and into the vault below; in the unlikely event of the station being demolished, the building above should be left unaffected.
