CA 15 May 1996. The owner of a block of flats sold the freehold without giving the tenants of the flats first refusal under The Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 s5. The tenants served a purchase notice on the new landlord under s12 of the same Act. CA held that the new landlord should comply with the purchase notice.
