Michael Elliot & Partners v UK Land plc QBD 17 July 1990. The claim by a firm of chartered surveyors for a fee for the introduction of clients to another agent, which resulted in the acquisition of property, was upheld in part since the defendants did not enter into an agreement with the plaintiffs but the second agents had authority to engage the plaintiffs so a fee on a quantum meruit basis was allowed.
