Examines the decision in University of Glasgow v W Whitfield ; and John Laing Construction (1988) (Transcript), in which a claim arose out of a serious design defect. The University sued the architect , who transferred part of the blame to the contractor , stating that the contractor had failed in his duty to warn either the client of the architect of the problem.
