ORB 15 February 1996. B&W sued both solicitors (acting for it and the borrower) and valuers in respect of a loan of £168,683 with the aid of which the lender bought Basement Flat, 4 Peto Place London NW1 for £168,000. The solicitors settled the claim, paying £170,000 plus costs. B&W assigned its claim against the valuers to the solicitors who brought a claim against the valuers pursuant to the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978.
