This paper reviews the operation and success of the farm grant notification arrangements introduced from 1 October 1980 to enable the national park authorities to comment on, or if necessary change, planned agricultural operations in their areas, based on detailed monitoring of all proposals cleared by the 10 parks over the period 1 April 1983 to 31 March 1986.
