The owner of a reconstructed Tudor farmhouse has successfully appealed against the serving of a demolition order by Hertfordshire County Council. The order was served on the grounds that the dwelling had been constructed from unseasoned green oak , but the owner provided evidence that cottages of that period were usually constructed of recently felled local oak.
