In Woolf Project Management Ltd v Woodtrek Ltd ChD 16 October 1987 it was held that where a condition in a contract for a sale of land provided that the purchaser should pay to the vendor, on top of the purchase price, an additional sum if the purchaser subsequently developed the property, that sum could not be protected by the registration of a caution.
